Ohio Track and Field Wraps Up Weekend at Music City Challenge


NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Ohio track and field team wrapped up competition at the 2022 Music City Challenge this weekend in the event hosted by Vanderbilt. 
 
On Friday, senior Stephanie Pierce (Fairborn, Ohio) got the Bobcats started in the 1500-meter race, placing fifth overall with time of 4:30.72.  
 
In the 3000 steeplechase, junior Carina Weaver (Lexington, Ohio) placed fourth with a personal best of 11:09.61. Her time shaved nine seconds off her previous PR. 
 
In discus, senior Autumn Mohan (Chillicothe, Ohio) placed seventh with a throw of 45.45m. 
 
The Bobcats were back in action on Saturday with fifth year Hailey Bowes (Arlington Heights, Ill.) placing third in the 5000m race, crossing the finish line in 17:24.91. Freshman Sarah Liederbach (Petoskey, Mich.) earned a 10th-place finish with a time of 18:55.88. 
 
In high jump, graduate student Taylor Strnad (Brook Park, Ohio) placed 10th with a jump of 1.60m. While in triple jump, sophomore Emily McKenzie (Dillsburg, Pa.) placed fifth with a jump of 11.40m. freshman Michaela Frey (Mechanicsburg, Pa) earned a 12thplace finish in the pole vault with a mark of 3.20m. 
 
Mohan was back in action in the shot put, finishing 11th with a throw of 12.82m. She also finished 13th in the hammer throw with a toss of 44.25m. 
 
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, May 7 at the RedHawk Invite in Oxford, Ohio.
