A £200k Bristol house is available to rent for £30k for FIVE NIGHTS this summer

A FOUR-BEDROOM home in Bristol is open to guests to rent for the summer – but will cost more than £30,000 for just FIVE nights.

The homeowner, looking to cash in on the UK staycation boom, has set a price nearly three times the amount a top suite at London’s five-star Savoy Hotel would cost for five nights.

The average-looking terraced home boasts a “fully equipped kitchen” which includes a kettle, microwave and fridge.

Other mod cons include a flat-screen TV and holidaymakers can enjoy “garden views” from the terrace.

The pricey stay – in total £30,195 – is approximately a sixth of the cost of the house, with the average property price on the street in Southmead being £193,000.

The same number of people – two adults and two children – could stay at the iconic Savoy for a fraction of the cost of renting the Bristol home.

A luxury Superior Queen room at the hotel in the heart of the capital works out at £2,416 for five nights – or £464 per night.

Even the Savoy’s most expensive Edwardian-style River View Suite – £2,276 per night – is cheaper.

And that offers a “King bed, panoramic River Thames view from both a separate sitting room and bedroom, plus Savoy Butler Service”.

All the stay prices are based on five nights from May 30 to June 4.

The listing for the house, called North Bristol Home Stay, reads: “Families like what this property has to offer.

“Featuring garden views, it provides accommodation with a terrace and a kettle.”

It continues: “The holiday home is equipped with four bedrooms, a flat-screen TV and a fully equipped kitchen that provides guests with a microwave, a fridge, a washing machine, an oven and a stovetop.

“Clifton and Bristol Zoo Gardens are 3.1 miles from the holiday home, while Bristol Cathedral is 3.7 miles away.

“This holiday home is 4.3 miles from Cabot Circus and 5.6 miles from Ashton Court.

“The nearest airport is Bristol Airport, 11.8 miles from North Bristol Home Stay.”

The cost of holidays in the UK have rocketed due to the coronavirus pandemic, with campsites forced to open new pitches due to demand, and some Cornwall locations starting waitlists for families wanting to book.

Foreign holiday travel is currently banned – with only business, education and voluntary work – allowed, although this could be lifted from May 17 with a new traffic light system allowing restriction-free travel to low-risk countries.

However, it is feared that the “green list” countries, yet to be announced, may still be blocked by the Foreign Office.
