Ohio mother accused of stabbing her children
TOLEDO, Ohio — Lucas County Sheriff’s Office deputies have arrested a woman who reportedly called 911 and admitted to stabbing her two young children.
The two children, ages 7 and 8, were found by deputies at a residence in Springfield Township, WTOL Channel 11 reports. One of the children, a girl, was in critical condition Thursday, WTOL reports. The other child, a boy, was seriously wounded.
Sheriff Mike Navarre tells WTVG Channel 13 that the suspect, Jameshia Taylor, 28, was outside Franklin Park Mall in Toledo at about 6:20 p.m. when she called 911. She told the dispatcher she was upset and possibly suicidal before saying she had stabbed her children.
Navarre tells WTOL that deputies at the scene of the stabbing were shaken by what they saw.
“It’s really bad. What the officers witnessed when they walked through that house was pretty horrific,” Navarre said. “It’s a tough situation.”
Taylor has been charged with two counts of felonious assault and two counts of domestic violence, WTVG Channel 13 reports. She is being held in the Lucas County Jail.
