Lana Del Rey Crushed by CC Sabathia in Taylor Swift Booth After Chiefs Super

It was pandemonium in Las Vegas after the Kansas City Chiefs scored a walk-off touchdown in overtime to defeat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII, 25-22. The Chiefs spilled onto the field to celebrate as the Niners trudged off. Up in the Taylor Swift booth, everybody was jumping up and down screaming their heads off. Much to the chagrin of Lana Del Rey.

Del Rey was in Swift’s suite for the end of the game and was standing next to her, Ice Spice, and Blake Lively when Patrick Mahomes threw the final touchdown to Mecole Hardman. As everybody started to mob each other, Del Rey appeared to brace herself before she got crushed by a man who was leaping over to celebrate with the Swift crew. Further inspection reveals that it was not just any man but former Major League Baseball pitcher and current podcaster CC Sabathia.

If you look at the left side of the frame you can see Del Rey getting overwhelmed by the mass of humanity.

A closer zoom in case you can’t see it:

The guy who landed on her was wearing a green sweatshirt and an old Cleveland Indians hat. Well, guess who was spotted behind Swift earlier in the game wearing that exact outfit?

An absolutely incredible crossover that is only possible at the Super Bowl. Lana Del Rey, moody musician extraordinaire, getting swallowed up by the ecstasy of a walk-off championship celebration and nearly getting trampled by CC Sabathia. Of all the people in the world!

It’s great when sports and pop culture intersect in fun and unexpected ways. A former New York Yankees pitcher accidentally falling onto a famous musician while trying to celebrate with an even more famous musician who is only there because she’s dating a tight end certainly qualifies as fun and unexpected.

Life is wonderful sometimes.
