After an inspired run during the NFL playoffs, with wins over the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and Baltimore Ravens, the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs have reached the big game for a second straight season.

It has been an up-and-down season for Patrick Mahomes and company as the team has struggled with their consistency over the course of the season, but they appear to have put it together in order to give the team a chance to repeat.

Unfortunately for Mahomes, one member of his immediate family who may not be in attendance at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on February 11 is his father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., who was recently arrested for a DWI and now has his mugshot all over social media, per KVUE News.

Obviously, this is a pretty sizable distraction for Patrick Mahomes, as he will almost certainly be concerned about his father, who clearly has a problem that needs to be dealt with.

However, if there’s any superstar quarterback in the league who can put this kind of outside drama aside and concentrate on what needs to be done on the football field, it’s the two-time Super Bowl champion.

A week from today, Mahomes and the Chiefs will take on the San Francisco 49ers in what will likely be an epic showdown between these two NFL heavyweights, with Kansas City currently considered to be the slight underdog against Brock Purdy and company.

With the Chiefs being underdogs throughout most of the postseason thus far, Kansas City can’t be counted out, as they’re bound to put up a fight on Super Bowl Sunday.
