The wait is officially over for fans of the Las Vegas Raiders, with the storied franchise making a decision on their head coaching vacancy on Friday ahead of the second round of the NFL playoffs.

Although the team was linked to University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh again, and rumors started to surface about interest in former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, the Raiders made the smart move and kept the one guy the players were rooting for to get the job in Las Vegas.

On Friday, the team made it official that they have hired Antonio Pierce to be the head coach moving forward, removing his interim tag and embracing him as their leader on the sideline for the foreseeable future.

In classic Raiders fashion, the team took to Twitter with a slick video of Pierce rocking a team jacket, as the late Al Davis would, walking to his office as the team’s new head coach.

With Pierce officially the new head coach of the team, the Raiders will have their work cut out for them during the NFL offseason to fill out his coaching staff, decide what to do with some essential parts of the roster like the quarterback position, and figure out what moves to make in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.

It’ll be an important offseason for the Raiders, with the team potentially headed in the right direction with a leader of men now in the top spot and motivated to get this franchise back on the right track.
