The Green Bay Packers could be without one of their best defensive players in their most important game of the season.

CB Jaire Alexander is listed as questionable ahead of their road postseason matchup with the Dallas Cowboys, and their latest roster move isn’t exactly encouraging.

According to Packers beat writer Rob Demovsky, the team has just signed and elevated CB David Long Jr., who was a part of their practice squad in December.

They had to release veteran RB Kenyan Drake to make room for him in the active roster.

Needless to say, that means that even if Alexander is cleared to play, he might not be out there on every snap or could be far from 100% and they need an insurance policy in case he has to leave the game.

This would be terrible news any day of the week, but it only gets worse if you consider the fact that he was going to be tasked with the almost-impossible responsibility of holding CeeDee Lamb in check.

Lamb has been one of the best players in the league, and most analysts believe his connection with Dak Prescott is currently the most dangerous in the postseason.

Alexander is one of the few players in the entire league who could legitimately hold his own or have a chance to stop him.

It’ll be interesting to see how Matt LaFleur and DC Joe Barry manage to keep him in check if they don’t have their stellar cornerback trying to get in his way.
