Insider Removes 1 Team From The Blake Snell Sweepstakes

The San Francisco Giants are one team that has made a few small moves this offseason.

After watching what the Los Angeles Dodgers have done this offseason, the Giants must feel pressure to make moves.

The Giants can use help all over their roster.

They need more pitching depth and can use another impact bat.

One player the Giants have added is left-handed starter Robbie Ray.

Also, according to Bob Nightengale, the Giants have signed Jordan Hicks to a 4-year, $44 million contract.

Hicks is expected to be converted to a starting pitcher, essentially taking the Giants out of the race for Blake Snell.

The Giants have Logan Webb, Ray, and Hicks as their starting pitchers.

There is no chance they will spend significant money on Snell as well.

San Francisco is taking a big swing with Hicks.

He does not have much starter experience in his career.

But, he does have all the stuff to be a dominant pitcher.

Hicks only has eight starts in his career, all of which came in 2022.

He is far from a sure thing but he will come much cheaper than Snell.

Wherever Snell ends up it will be for a lot of money.

He is the reigning NL Cy Young winner and can transform a starting rotation.

Staying competitive in the NL West will not be easy.

The Giants will have to go through the Dodgers and reigning NL champion Arizona Diamondbacks.

But, there are still plenty of moves the Giants can make this offseason to improve their chances.
