The next day, newspapers concentrated on the donations and deceptions.
The group considered repaying the money or giving it to charity.[1][2]
They paid the grant back to Leeds University Union.
However, the union demanded a letter of apology to the city’s students for publication in Leeds Student.
The group’s members refused and were banned from their student representative body.[3]
Reports on the amount of sponsorship varied from £50, through £400 to £800.[4][1].
The true amount and what the group did with it are not known.
