Surya Kumar Yadav (born 14 September 1990) is an Indian international cricketer who represents the Indian cricket team in ODI & T20I Formats. He is the vice captain of the Indian National Cricket Team in T20I, he is currently leading the team as captain in the ongoing T20I series.[3][4] Yadav has represented India in all three formats of the game. He plays for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League and serves as the captain for Mumbai in Indian domestic cricket. Commonly termed as Mr. 360 for his playing style, Yadav is currently the world no.1 T20I batter in ICC T20I Rankings.

Early and personal life[edit]

Yadav was born in Mumbai on the 14th of September, 1990, and was raised there. His parents are from Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh.[5][6] He started playing cricket under the coaching of his uncle, Vinod Kumar Yadav. He learned the game while playing on the streets of Chembur. At the age of 10, his father saw his inclination towards the game and enrolled him in a cricket camp in the BARC colony in Anushakti Nagar. He then went to Elf Vengsarkar Academy,[7] run by former international cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar, and played age-group cricket in Mumbai.[8] He was educated at Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science.[9]

In July 2017, Yadav married Devisha Shetty. The couple first met in 2010 at a college program. Shetty is a trained dancer and serves as a dance coach.[10]

Domestic career[edit]

Suryakumar Yadav played his club cricket in Mumbai, mostly for Parsi Gymkhana Cricket Club, along with teams including Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited team, Shivaji Park Gymkhana Club and Dadar Union Club.[11][1]
