Minority religion in San Marino

The Republic of San Marino has 91.5% of its population following the Catholic Church, according to the 2021 estimations. In the country, Islam is a minority religion where it has its following making themselves the sixth largest religious minority after Catholicism about 85.45%, other denominations of Christianity about 5%, Agnosticism about 5.6%, atheism about 7.56%, and the Baha’i Faith about 1%, suggested by the 2020 estimations. The 2020 estimations also say the country has approximately 10 Muslims.

Religious education, places of worship and ethics[edit]

San Marino has two mosques for its Muslim citizens, one of them located in the capital city of San Marino was previously a building apartment until there were no inhabitants, it was converted into a mosque named Masjid al-Maidah, yet it currently had no minarets and a dome itself. The other mosque was located in Acquaviva that was also converted from a different building to a mosque too, as well as it also has an Islamic cultural association.

The country has no Islamic schools or other education supplication from one of the Muslim world. The Sammarinese citizens are welcoming and tolerant to anyone in San Marino, despite there is also a small chance that the Sammarinese citizens of the country can be friends with the Muslims due to their lack of common interests of other religions.
