James Harden Details A New Focus With The Clippers
A new era of Los Angeles Clippers basketball is getting underway, with the team recently making a blockbuster trade with the Philadelphia 76ers to acquire superstar guard James Harden.
The veteran journeyman will join the likes of Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and former teammate Russell Westbrook on a roster stacked with top-tier talent.
The Clippers already had championship aspirations before making this move for the one-time NBA MVP, but now the pressure will be on with four players who have led NBA franchises during different parts of their careers.
Ahead of Harden’s debut with the Clippers, the veteran guard claimed that he wants to be locked in defensively this season, which is not his strong suit, according to Law Murray of The Athletic.
James Harden says that he wants to be locked in defensively: “being the best version of myself, watching film, consistently communicating with coaches and continue to try to figure out how can I be great on both sides. It will take some time. Hopefully not too much time.”

Harden, much like Westbrook, has never been known for playing well defensively during his NBA career, and it’s doubtful either one of them will pick it up in that area now that they’re in Los Angeles.
Leonard and George, however, are arguably two of the best two-way players in the game, which gives the Clippers an edge in that category moving forward.
The real question is whether the chemistry will come together for the Clippers with this dynamic foursome and if that chemistry will result in this team being a legitimate title contender in a very deep Western Conference.
Only time will tell if this latest star-studded experiment for the Clippers actually works, as all eyes will be on the new-look squad moving forward as they try to compete with the best of the best in the West.
