The last few weeks have been rough for the Los Angeles Rams, with Sean McVay’s squad suffering consecutive losses to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys.

As if dropping to 3-5 on the season wasn’t bad enough for the Rams, the team is also dealing with some injury issues to two of their best players on the offensive side of the football.

Rookie phenom Puka Nacua is dealing with a knee injury that has made him a limited participant in practice this week, while star quarterback Matthew Stafford is battling a thumb injury that knocked him out of last week’s game against the Cowboys.

Ahead of the team’s Week 9 showdown on the road against the Green Bay Packers, McVay wasn’t ready to commit one way or the other concerning Stafford’s status for Sunday’s game, according to Andrew Siciliano of NFL Network.

Fortunately for the Rams, the Packers are not exactly the juggernaut of old without superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers under center this season, as Jordan Love has really struggled to fill the shoes of the future Hall of Famer.

That said, the Rams might be able to get away with Stafford sitting this game out, even though the Packers are currently favored by three points to come out on top on Sunday at Lambeau Field.

If Stafford can’t go on Sunday in Green Bay against the Packers, McVay and his coaching staff will likely turn to Brett Rypien, who came in for the veteran quarterback last week against the Cowboys but only completed five of the 10 passes he threw for 42 yards.
