With the Texas Rangers’ victory in the World Series, the 2023 MLB season is officially over.

It was a fantastic year, filled with unique individual achievements, unexpected breakouts, and two “underdogs” in the Fall Classic.

Now, it’s time to think ahead.

The MLB offseason will officially open in a few days, with everything that comes with it: free agency, trade season, option decisions, salary arbitrations, non-tender deadlines, etc.

A little further ahead lies spring training: pitchers and catchers reporting for duty in February, and exhibition games in March.

However, the thing that true hardcore fans are already looking forward to the most is Opening Day 2024.

Those who really love the game would be thrilled to watch it everyday, and even though they know that can’t happen (players need to rest), they are allowed to miss it.

The official countdown toward 2024 Opening Day is officially at 147 as of Thursday.

The league’s official Twitter account reminded us all of the number of days separating us from watching our beloved players again.

In the graphic, some of the most exciting young stars appear: Elly De La Cruz, Corbin Carroll, Royce Lewis, and Ronald Acuna Jr., with veterans Aaron Judge and Adolis Garcia completing the group.

MLB notes that the official number until baseball is back is actually 139 days, because the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres will get the season underway in Seoul, South Korea.
