Braves Waste No Time In Making First Offseason Addition
The Atlanta Braves had it all to fight for the World Series title in 2023.
They had an explosive offense, a solid pitching staff, and a good bullpen, yet they couldn’t eliminate the Philadelphia Phillies in the Division Series for the second year in a row.
One of these years, things are going to go the Braves’ way, like it happened in 2021 when they won it all.
They are just too talented and deep to fail for long.
Additionally, they go to work early and always try to secure the best players, the best contracts, and the best group of people to reach their goal.
The day after the 2023 World Series ended, on Thursday, they announced a contract extension.
The Braves are signing relief pitcher Joe Jimenez to a three-year deal.

The three-year contract is worth $26 million: he will make $8 million in 2024 and $9 million each in 2025 and 2026.
It’s a nice deal for a very solid reliever that had a 3.04 ERA in 56.1 frames in 2023, with 14 walks and 73 strikeouts.
His career from 2017 to 2021 was very inconsistent, when he was with the Detroit Tigers.
That’s why he has a career 4.86 ERA.
However, he improved in 2022 with a 3.49 ERA and was traded to the Braves in December of 2022.
Now, the Braves are going to make him part of their long-term plan for the next three seasons.
Jimenez’s heavy stuff translates into lots of strikeouts, and we all know that the Braves, as an organization, love strikeouts.
This has the potential to be a worthwhile investment for the Braves.
