The move the entire NBA was waiting for finally happened as the Philadelphia 76ers traded James Harden to the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Clippers sent out Marcus Morris, Nic Batum, Robert Covington, KJ Martin, multiple draft picks, and a pick swap to the 76ers for Harden.

The blockbuster deal came together quickly after the two sides were unable to agree to a trade in the offseason.

Harden has yet to play during the 2023-24 NBA season, but will presumably suit up for the Clippers either Wednesday against the Los Angeles Lakers or against the New York Knicks next Monday.

Although this move was expected for months, it’s still a shock to see Harden go from one contender to another.

While all the focus is on Harden, players like Morris seemed happy with the deal as he posted his reaction on his Instagram account, via NBACentral.

Morris has a picture of himself with a Meek Mill song playing in the background.

The song titled “Left Hollywood” is an appropriate name given that Morris is leaving Los Angeles and the lyrics drive the point home even further as they go: “I had to get out of Hollywood, get back to the trenches. They said they need me.”

Morris is a Philadelphia native, so the move brings him home and allows him an opportunity to contribute to a team that still has championship aspirations.

There were rumors that the Clippers were looking to trade Morris at the trade deadline last season, but the two sides finally part ways over half a year later.
