The Denver Broncos have looked better in the past three weeks or so.

The playoffs are still a long shot for Sean Payton’s team, but the former Super Bowl champion isn’t going to just give up.

That’s why, when asked his thoughts after snapping a 16-game losing streak over the Kansas City Chiefs, Payton simply stated that the team will definitely play in bigger games than that (via Zac Stevens).

That’s exactly what you’d want to hear if you’re a Broncos fan, although, all things considered, maybe he meant next season.

Sitting on a 3-5 record, it’ll be tough for the Broncos to find their way to the promised land.

Even so, their defense has now made a statement in two games vs. the reigning Super Bowl champions this season.

Holding Mahomes and the Chiefs to just nine points is no joke, and it’s hard to fathom the fact that we’re talking about the very same defense that allowed 70 points in a single game early in the season.

Russell Wilson’s numbers weren’t impressive and he threw for under 200 yards, but he still managed to get three touchdowns without turning the ball over.

The Broncos will now have another steep challenge when they hit the road to face Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.

They’re also due to face the Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Chargers (twice), and Detroit Lions, so playing in bigger games than the one they played on Sunday will definitely be a tough promise to fulfill, at least this season.
