The Philadelphia 76ers didn’t start the 2023-24 season on a great note, as they suffered a defeat in their season opener against the Milwaukee Bucks.

However, the 76ers bounced back in their second game of the season against the Toronto Raptors.

The Joel Embiid-led team helped the 76ers register a 114-107 win over the Raptors.

It was a great win by the 76ers as Nick Nurse faced off against his former team.

Scottie Barnes of the Raptors was asked about his thoughts on playing against his former head coach for the first time, and the 22-year-old had a surprising answer via Legion Hoops on Twitter.

“I don’t know. I didn’t really look over there that much. I was focused on the game… Good to see him, I guess,” Barnes said.

Nick Nurse was the mastermind behind the Toronto Raptors’ 2019 NBA Championship.

Since the championship run, the Raptors have struggled to maintain their form in the regular season.

Last season, the Raptors had an underwhelming 41-41 record, barely making the play-in tournament.

Keeping that in mind, the Raptors let go of Nick Nurse.

Following his departure from the Raptors, Nurse was signed by the Philadelphia 76ers, who were in search of a stable head coach after the firing of Doc Rivers.

Nurse brings a certain championship pedigree to the 76ers, and that’s what the organization needs right now.

The 76ers have started the season with a 1-1 record, as they are currently the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.

Can the 76ers finally end their championship drought with Nick Nurse as the head coach?
