The Denver Nuggets have started the 2023-2024 NBA Season the same way they ended the prior year.

They have dominated their competition thus far, winning their first three games of the new campaign.

While Nikola Jokic, Michael Porter Jr., and Jamal Murray have resumed their roles as the team’s top three options, they have found success from many role players, making this a tough team.

After the Nuggets’ recent dominant victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder, Jokic had nothing but positive things to say about one of the Thunder’s youngest players.

According to Jokic via Bennett Duando and Legion Hoops, he called Chet Holmgren “very talented.”

Holmgren was a top prospect in the 2022 NBA Draft, but injuries kept him away from the team for a year.

Now, Holmgren is back, gaining the respect of many top players throughout the league, including Jokic.

While Jokic quickly called out how talented Holmgren is, he also found an opportunity to rib him.

“I think he needs to be a little bit fatter, to be honest,” Jokic said.

Whether he said this in true jest remains to be seen, but Holmgren’s weight was a factor many NBA scouts called out before the draft.

Holmgren currently stands at 7″1,’ but he only weighs 207 pounds, which Jokic and others see as a potential detriment to his game.

For a player like Jokic who might have a bit more meat on his bones, even though Holmgren is a great athlete, he might lose 1-1 matchups moving forward due to a size differential.
