Insider Reveals Jimmy Garoppolo’s Potential Return Date
During his team’s win over the New England Patriots last week, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a back injury that prevented him from finishing the game.
Garoppolo has already been ruled out for the Raiders’ Week 7 matchup against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, but it doesn’t sound like the injury is going to keep him sidelined for that much longer.
On Saturday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed that despite Garoppolo being unable to suit up against the Bears because of his back injury, he is reportedly expected to be available for Las Vegas’ next game in Week 8 against the Detroit Lions.

Garoppolo has dealt with plenty of injuries, both major and minor, since he first entered the NFL back in 2014 as a member of the Patriots.
Sunday’s contest against Chicago will actually be the second matchup the veteran quarterback has missed this season due to injury, with the first coming back in Week 4 when a concussion prevented him from suiting up against the Los Angeles Chargers.
In the five games that Garoppolo has managed to start for the Raiders this year, the team has been able to come out with a win in three of them.
His 2023 numbers haven’t really been anything to rave about (seven touchdowns, eight interceptions, 215.8 passing yards per game), but Las Vegas has a winning record when he’s their starter this year, and that is something the team hopes will continue for the rest of the season.
Garoppolo has never really been a quarterback to put up monster stats, but with a career 43-19 record as a starter in the NFL, his teams typically win more often than not.
