Commentary: Malicious Mitt Romney – The Ohio Star

Romney failed miserably in 2012, when America badly needed a political street fighter to save the country from a second Obama term. Instead, we got a soulless corporate automaton, conjoined with an equally feckless junior version of Mitt, running mate Paul Ryan. For Romney, it seems that botched run still haunts this bitter man as he heads to an ignoble retirement rather than confront angry voters in the 2024 GOP primary.

But, wonder of wonders, suddenly lame-duck Mitt has found some spirit, albeit on his way out the door. Now that he is leaving politics, he has plenty to say. It’s a lot like a pretend pugilist who talks tough only after the potential combatants are safely separated.

Here is a sampler platter of the serious barbs Romney throws at key elected officials on the Right:

Ron DeSantis: “no warmth at all…an authoritarian…there’s a peril to having someone who’s smart and pulling in a direction that’s dangerous”

Rick Perry: “Republicans must realize that we have to have someone who can complete a sentence”

Newt Gingrich: “A smug know-it-all, smarmy, and too pleased with himself”

JD Vance: “I don’t know that I can disrespect someone more.”

All these leaders should wear “Pierre’s” scorn as a badge of honor, particularly since malicious Mitt was too cowardly to make such statements except in his swan song, on his way out of office.

A political eunuch, Romney was at least consistent in his constant efforts to swim with the perceived public current of popularity. Mitt always catered to “the current thing.”

Back in 2020, when the BLM riots tore America’s cities asunder, laying waste to neighborhoods, bringing violence to police nationwide, and causing billions of dollars in property damage, Mitt Romney put on his useless Fauci mask and proudly pranced with the radicals. The same leftists, incidentally, who boasted that they are “trained Marxists” and advocate for the dissolution of the nuclear family in America.

So, goodbye/au revoir not just to Mitt, but also to the cabal he represents. America increasingly slides into oligarchy, as statist globalists continue to vaporize U.S. sovereignty and destroy the prosperity of middle class citizens.

Our cause will be far better off without the Romneys of the world, who pine for the politics of accommodation and advocate for places like Davos, Beijing, and Kiev…rather than the main streets of Utah.
