Star shortstop Carlos Correa was a longtime Houston Astros player before signing with the Minnesota Twins ahead of the 2022 season.

He built an impressive playoff resume in Houston.

In fact, his MLB debut in 2015 matches up with Houston’s resurgence as a franchise after six straight years with a losing record.

From 2017 to 2021, Correa and the Astros won a World Series and made five American League Championship Series.

He departed, though, and Houston kept winning, taking the 2022 Fall Classic.

Now, the Twins are facing the Astros in the 2023 AL Division Series.

He will get to play against the people he made history with: Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, Michael Brantley, Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker, Justin Verlander, and many others.

In Houston, Correa hit 18 postseason home runs and drove in 59 runs, some of the best marks in history.

Now, he is tasked with leading the Twins to the ALCS.

Altuve is focused on beating Correa and the Twins even though they are friends.

“We have to beat him, even though we like him a lot,” Jose Altuve said of Carlos Correa,” Astros insider Chandler Rome tweeted.

They spent almost a decade together and built their careers from scratch.

They grew up together, through thick and thin, and are now facing off for a spot in the ALCS.

While the Astros are the reigning World Series champs, the Twins represent an important challenge for them considering their elite rotation.

Having Correa as the infield general and veteran leader doesn’t hurt, either.

Houston, led by Altuve, has the firepower to inflict some damage, but it remains to be seen if their rotation is deep enough to advance.
