The New England Patriots have struggled mightily this season, and their defense has only been able to carry them so much.

There has been a lot of weight on Mac Jones’ shoulders, and he hasn’t looked up to the task of leading the team forward.

That’s why NFL reporter Albert Breer went at him full steam (via NBC Sports Boston), putting him on blast for not being able to lead a team.

Breer talked about how the Dallas Cowboys defense was undermanned, yet Jones failed to make the most of that and prove that he could be a franchise quarterback.

There were already a lot of doubts about Jones’ ability to be a QB1 at the level a franchise like the Patriots requires, and this start to the season has done little to dissipate those doubts.

Of course, it’s also worth noting that the Patriots haven’t done absolutely anything to give him any sort of help, from the gameplan and the scheme they run to the skill players and offensive linemen they’ve given him.

The Patriots could be in for a lot of changes at the end of the season if they don’t turn things around.

Team owner Robert Kraft made it loud and clear that even the legendary Bill Belichick could be out of his job if the Patriots don’t make the playoffs again this season, and judging by the way they’ve fared thus far, that’s what’s likely to happen.
