It seems like there’s a new rivalry brewing in the NBA.

The Denver Nuggets made sure to rub it in the Los Angeles Lakers’ faces last season, and they kept receipts.

LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and even Austin Reaves admitted that they’d had talks about how much they want to beat the Nuggets this season.

And while the Nuggets are obviously no pushovers and have talked back, Chris Broussard believes all the pressure is on Darvin Ham’s team right now.

On the latest edition of First Things First, the analyst stated that the Lakers have talked a lot of trash about being happy to face the Nuggets in the first game of the season, which is why they need to make sure they win that game.

Broussard adds that the Nuggets couldn’t care less if they lose that game, as they already have bragging rights over them because of that sweep in the playoffs, and it’ll be just a regular season game.

But if the Lakers lose that game, it’ll only get more and more in their heads, and that’s not good at all.

This all started when coach Mike Malone was — rightfully — livid at the fact that all the media revolved around the Lakers, even though the Nuggets had the best record in the Western Conference and were — literally — up 2-0 in the series.

Now, these matchups will be must-watch television.
