Russell Westbrook’s Mini-Camp Had A Notable Absence
Today’s NBA players seem more dedicated to their craft than their counterparts from a couple of decades ago, and some players and teams have taken to organizing mini-camps ahead of the official start of training camp.
It is something Russell Westbrook did for the Los Angeles Clippers just days ago to help them get ready for the new season.
Although most of Westbrook’s teammates were there, forward Marcus Morris reportedly didn’t attend, per Andrew Greif via Legion Hoops.

Ever since joining the Clippers midway through the 2019-20 season, Morris has been a key member of the team, as he has been a very nice supplementary offensive option next to Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
Morris is entering his 13th season, and he is someone who can score, hit from 3-point range, and play some physical defense at the power forward position.
As usual, the Clippers feel they have a championship-caliber team, but the hype surrounding them has greatly died down, as few are picking them to be there in the end this summer.
Leonard and George haven’t been able to stay healthy over the last three seasons, and they’re now starting to get up there in age.
Westbrook is 34 years of age himself, but he played well after coming to the Clippers late last season, and he doesn’t appear to be close to the tail-end of his career.
His ability to aggressively attack in transition, get others involved and provide lots of frenetic energy will be key to the team’s chances of success this season.
