For the last couple of seasons, the New Orleans Pelicans have had plenty of potential, but they have been unable to stay healthy and realize that potential.

While star forward Brandon Ingram has missed quite a few games, Zion Williamson has suffered the worst injury woes of any of his teammates.

The 6-foot-6 phenom played in just 29 games last season because of a hamstring injury, and the year before, he didn’t play at all because of a foot injury.

Williamson gave a simple statement about what he worked on during the offseason, via Pro Pels Talk on Twitter.

When Williamson has been healthy in his four NBA seasons, he has been pretty much unguardable, as he owns a career average of 25.8 points a game on 60.5 percent shooting.

He is an immovable object in his paint, and his 284-pound frame is simply too much for just about anyone to deal with.

Some have criticized Williamson for what they see as a lack of dedication to strength and conditioning, and there is a sentiment that he needs to lose some weight in order to put less stress on his legs and feet.

But if he and the Pelicans’ other key players stay relatively healthy, they can be dangerous.

He, Ingram, and guard CJ McCollum form a very potent trio, and complementary players such as center Jonas Valanciunas, wing Trey Murphy III, and big man Larry Nance Jr. will give them plenty of support.

New Orleans may not be a championship contender, but the team may end up making some serious noise in the playoffs if it has better luck in terms of health.
