The Miami Heat spent the past couple of months trying to get Damian Lillard.

But in what has seemingly become a common trend as of late, they couldn’t get the job done.

Pat Riley may have lost his magic, and the Portland Trail Blazers were never seriously engaged in trade talks with them.

So, now that Lillard has taken his talents to the Milwaukee Bucks, Heat star Jimmy Butler made it loud and clear that he’s not worried about them or anybody else right now.

During his hilarious Media Day interview, Butler stated that as happy as he is for Lillard, they will still beat him, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Adrian Griffin, and the Milwaukee Bucks en route to an NBA championship (Via Bleacher Report).

Notably, Butler has never had any sort of doubt about his game or his team’s ability to get the job done, regardless of who’s actually on the floor or even on the roster.

He’s never taken the regular season all that seriously, and even if his methods aren’t orthodox, he’s always taken a big step in the postseason, and the Heat are always a force to be reckoned with at that point in the season.

Still, they did lose two big rotation players in Max Strus and Gabe Vincent, all while the rest of the conference got significantly better.

As hard as it is to bet against them, they’re going to have a very tough time living up to those words next season.
