Damian Lillard Reacts To His Pairing With Giannis Antetokounmpo
The Milwaukee Bucks were already legitimate championship contenders going into this season, but a few days ago, they became championship favorites when they gave up Jrue Holiday and Grayson Allen in order to land seven-time All-Star guard Damian Lillard.
Monday was Media Day for most teams across the NBA, and Lillard sounded excited about teaming up with Giannis Antetokounmpo.
He called Antetokounmpo “the best player in the league” and said playing with Antetokounmpo will be fun, via NBACentral.

In addition, Lillard said that the pick-and-roll with him and the Greek Freak will be “unstoppable.”

Lillard, 33, put up the best numbers of his career last season when he averaged 32.2 points and 7.3 assists a game, and since he doesn’t rely on quickness or athleticism, he should have plenty left in the tank.
He played his first 11 seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, a team that was never able to reach contender status, and ultimately it meant lots of frustration.
They reached the Western Conference Finals only once with him, and usually, he would end a season with a first-round playoff defeat.
The Blazers didn’t even make the playoffs the last two years, but now they will have a young and promising squad for the future.
Meanwhile, the Bucks and their fans are thinking world championship, and the team still has most of the core of the team that won it all during the 2020-21 season.
If everything goes according to plan, it could be Dame Time for them and the rest of the NBA next June.
