Government [almost] Shut Down, How Did Joe Use His Time To Help

Joe Biden used his feckless Press Secretary to point her little fingers at the MAGA Republican Representatives this week, who she says are fully responsible for putting the country at the existential point of a Government Shutdown. I used the term existential with tongue in cheek because a shutdown will not impact most people, but hyperbole is how KJP rolls.

We will avoid a shutdown because House Republicans will pass a continuing resolution to give the Government more time to craft a budget resolution. I favor the Republicans holding out because it forces action on both sides to respond to specific causes that would go on as usual otherwise. The Border Conditions and overall spending are examples. But in reality, the shutdown is the responsibility of Congress and the President, and examining the President’s published schedule for this week shows he had little concern for the impending existential event.

Joe Biden’s weekly schedule is a diary of a part-time Executive and typically has only one event on the daily docket. This week, when the White House sounded like Rome was burning, it gave us a sad look into how seriously this aging President takes his job at this critical moment. Full disclosure is that this schedule is a bit different from the template used by the President for most weeks. This week’s schedule did not include a three-day weekend in Delaware, which is the norm for Joe Biden. Let’s look at the details for the week and the absence of any appointments of importance to the operation of the country.

That is it, right from the official White House calendar. Here is the link: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/embed?src=cantymedia.com_62fqfmv1eejqs9hntbr6hof5kc@group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/New_York

There is nothing about the Budget, Inflation, Shutdown, Border Issues, Crime Spree, Auto Workers Strike, Fentanyl, Impeachment Inquiry, or COVID. There is no meat in the President’s schedule, but they have no problem pointing fingers at the “MAGA” Republican Representatives. This meager effort is all part of the gaslighting program that is obvious daily from the White House Briefing Room. Whether it is KJP or John Kirby, there is no truth but deflection. Americans are feeling the pain as they live day to day under the lousy policies of this President. The polls show how the people think, but listen to the White House, and they will tell you how you should really feel.

We avoided the shutdown today but will replay this sad tale in November. This bunch is getting so broken or so old they could only kick the can down the road for a few weeks.
