Before the 2023 NFL season got underway for the Los Angeles Rams, Sean McVay and company had to deal with the tough news that superstar wide receiver Cooper Kupp would have to miss at least the first four games of the season due to a hamstring injury.

The Rams were forced to place Kupp on injured reserve, which means he’d miss a minimum of four games, and that obviously was not ideal for Los Angeles and star quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Fortunately, Kupp appears to be on the right track of returning from injured reserve after Week 4 when the Rams go on the road to face Anthony Richardson and the Indianapolis Colts.

According to McVay via Ari Meirov, Kupp has been designated to return for Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kupp’s return couldn’t come at a better time for the Rams, with the team struggling over the past two weeks after getting the season-opening win over the division-rival Seattle Seahawks in Week 1.

Consecutive losses to the San Francisco 49ers and Cincinnati Bengals were costly, with the Rams starting the season with one of the toughest schedules in the league, as they had to face three teams that made the playoffs last season right out of the gate.

Fortunately, the Rams might be able to get back on track without Kupp in Week 4, as they face a Colts team that is still trying to figure things out, with Richardson returning to the field after missing last week due to being in the league’s concussion protocol.
