The Texas Rangers have been one of the most impressive teams in baseball this season.

Not many people expected them to be competitive, but they seem bound for the playoffs.

One reason for their success is the emergence of a few key hitters.

Corey Seager is putting together an elite season.

If not for Shohei Ohtani, Seager would be in a great spot to win his first MVP award.

He is hitting .341 with 26 home runs and 81 RBI this season.

All in all, he is putting together historic numbers for a shortstop.

According to OptaSTATS, Seager has an OPS of 1.084 when playing shortstop this year.

The Rangers shortstop has established himself as one of the top players in baseball.

He is proving to be well worth the massive contract he signed with Texas before the 2022 season.

What Seager is doing in Texas has made him a fan favorite.

He has turned into one of the best pure hitters in baseball.

The only thing that can hold him back is injuries.

Seager has been on the injured list twice this season due to hamstring and thumb injuries.

Even still, Seager has produced more than many players who have been healthy the full year.

The Rangers are in a highly contested battle in the AL West.

They are battling the Seattle Mariners and Houston Astros for the top spot in the West.

Seager will have to play his best over the next month to help the Rangers win their first division crown since 2016.
