C.J. Stroud Receives Major Honor From The Texans
The Houston Texans are a struggling NFL franchise that is hoping to take a giant leap forward during the 2023 season, with the team bringing in some talented young players that will hopefully set up a bright future for the team.
The one player that the Texans will be leaning on the most over the next few years is rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud, who the team drafted out of Ohio State with the No. 2 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft after the Carolina Panthers chose Bryce Young out of Alabama at No. 1 overall.
Recently, the Texans let it be known that Stroud has won the starting job under center to start the 2023 campaign, which puts him in the same category as Young with the Panthers and Anthony Richardson of the Indianapolis Colts, who also were named starters of their respective teams.
With Stroud being a starter right out of the gate, the pressure will be on immediately for the 21-year-old, even though expectations will be low in Houston this season.
Along with being the starting quarterback right away, Stroud has been named one of four team captions in Houston, according to the team’s Twitter account.

Stroud joins strong safety Jimmie Ward, free safety Jalen Pitre, and left tackle Laremy Tunsil as team captains of the Texans moving forward, which is a sign that he’s won his teammates over during training camp and could be the right man for the job to lead this team.
Although Stroud seems to be on the right track to make a name for himself in Houston, only time will tell if he can indeed be successful in the NFL.
