Friday night was an entertaining night for the New York Yankees.

Top prospect Jasson Dominguez was called up to the Major Leagues as part of September roster expansions and he made his MLB debut on Friday against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park.

The Astros have had the Yankees number over the past several years, but Friday night’s game belonged to the Yankees.

Dominguez even accomplished a major first, hitting his first career home run and doing it off of Justin Verlander.

It was a two-run shot in the top of the first that helped the Yankees extend their lead to 3-0.

On Twitter, the Yankees fan page and podcast “Talkin’ Yanks” posted a video of the home run.

Dominguez is a highly touted prospect, and with good reason.

The young slugger was called up after the Yankees lost Harrison Bader to the Cincinnati Reds on waivers.

However, Dominguez gave Yankees fans a nice glimpse into the future when he took Verlander deep.

The video also showed the reactions from his family, who were all in the stands in Houston on Friday night.

The home run was Dominguez’s only hit in the game, but the young slugger made it count and it proved to be the difference in the game as the Yankees won 6-2.

At the minor league level, the 20-year-old was hitting .265 with 15 home runs, 83 RBI, and an OPS of .802.

The Yankees may be out of contention, but now is a good time for them to get a look at Dominguez and some of their other young players.
