Ravens GM Points Out Key Difference For 1 Position Group This Season

Although they won 10 games and made the playoffs last season, the Baltimore Ravens were frightfully weak at the wide receiver position.

None of their wideouts reached as many as 500 receiving yards, and they were heavily dependent on Pro Bowl tight end Mark Andrews for production in their passing game.

But this season looks to be a different story, thanks mainly to the additions of Odell Beckham Jr. and first-round draft pick Zay Flowers.

GM Eric DeCosta said that he’s now fielding trade offers as a result of his team’s improved wide receiver room, per Ari Meirov.

Beckham is a three-time Pro Bowler who went over 1,300 yards in each of his first three seasons as a member of the New York Giants.

After two torn ACLs, he likely won’t be close to the player he was back then, but if he is spry enough, he should still be a threat in certain situations.

Flowers is considered to be someone who has star potential, especially after his senior season at Boston College, which saw him put up 1,077 yards and 12 touchdowns.

The presence of Beckham and Flowers could result in a bump in the production of quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is armed with a humongous new contract.

His passing numbers have dropped ever since 2019, the year in which he had 3,127 passing yards and an NFL-high 36 touchdown passes, which earned him the regular-season MVP award.

On the other side of the football, Baltimore’s defense is strong, and if their offense is potent enough, they could perhaps give the Cincinnati Bengals a run for their money in the AFC North.
