Klay Thompson Meets Boxing Legend In The Philippines
After losing to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the NBA playoffs, the Golden State Warriors have had quite an offseason filled with uncertainty, with the storied franchise making some changes ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season.
Along with seeing the departure of longtime general manager Bob Myers, the Warriors decided to shake things up this summer by trading Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards.
With the team signing veteran forward Draymond Green to a lucrative long-term deal, it’s not all that surprising that Poole was sent packing, as obviously, the team valued what the veteran brings to the table instead of the 24-year-old guard.
In the deal with the Wizards, the Warriors acquired future Hall of Famer Chris Paul, which is an interesting move, to say the least.
Although the Warriors will look much different next season and will be run differently with Mike Dunleavy Jr. taking over for Myers, Golden State’s stars are enjoying themselves this offseason, with Klay Thompson and Kevon Looney recently getting a chance to meet boxing legend Manny Pacquiao in the Philippines, via Ball Don’t Lie.

As one of the greatest boxers of all time, Pacquiao definitely has something in common with these two NBA champions, with Thompson winning four rings during his time in the Bay Area and Looney winning three with the Warriors.
Along with these two Warriors stars visiting with Pacquiao, Team USA is also in the Philippines, with Warriors head coach Steve Kerr calling the shots on the sideline with hopes of winning the FIBA World Cup.
