Joe Montana Snubs Tom Brady For NFL GOAT Honor
The GOAT conversation in the NFL seems to come down to one player these days, as few argue that Tom Brady, formerly of the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, isn’t the greatest football player of all time.
Brady officially retired from the NFL after the 2022 campaign, with the veteran quarterback seemingly reluctant to walk away from the game, but knowing that it’s probably for the best even though he clearly has the itch to keep playing.
With Brady retiring, the GOAT debate has heated up again as many have started to look at his legacy and how winning seven Super Bowl titles is simply ridiculous.
Even though it seems as though Brady is the consensus greatest player of all time, former San Francisco 49ers superstar Joe Montana, who once had the distinction with four titles to his credit, believes that Miami Dolphins legend Dan Marino is the GOAT over Brady, which is a hot take, to say the least.
Montana explained his logic for this decision to TMZ Sports via Dov Kleiman.

Although Marino was incredibly talented and put up monster numbers as the face of the Dolphins franchise for his entire NFL career, the Hall of Famer never won a ring during his time in Miami, which ends the discussion for most.
It seems as though Montana has written off Brady entirely, especially when he’s comparing eras and then says Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs has a chance to surpass Marino.
This is likely a tough pill to swallow for Brady, who grew up a diehard 49ers fan and idolized Montana.
