Ja’Marr Chase Was Surprised By Joe Burrow’s Unexpected Return
After dealing with a calf injury over the last few weeks, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is back on the practice field, and he has returned perhaps earlier than some expected him to.
There is still no definitive word on whether he will be able to play in their Week 1 contest at the Cleveland Browns.
Star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is one of those who were surprised that Burrow was ready to return to action this early, via Dov Kleiman.

Burrow is clearly one of the best QBs in the NFL, and perhaps many people in Ohio think he’s the best quarterback, period.
He threw for 4,475 yards and 35 touchdowns last season, and he guided Cincinnati to a 12-4 record while getting them to the brink of a second straight Super Bowl appearance.
However, Burrow has proven to be somewhat injury-prone as he enters his fourth pro season.
His rookie campaign was cut short by a severe knee injury, and his current calf injury is considered risky, as it could possibly lead to a torn Achilles, as NBA superstar Kevin Durant discovered in 2019.
Still, Burrow is an incredibly steady hand for the Bengals, so much so that he has been compared to San Francisco 49ers legend Joe Montana, who is the proud owner of four Super Bowl championship rings.
Two of those rings were earned against the Bengals, a franchise that has never won the world championship.
If Burrow is and remains healthy, perhaps this season will be their best chance at finally claiming the Vince Lombardi Trophy, especially given the fact that the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs lost a couple of their key players this offseason.
