In two NFL seasons thus far, Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields hasn’t tapped into the potential he displayed in college.

He has completed just 59.7 percent of his pass attempts and has thrown almost as many interceptions (21) as touchdown passes (24), and he has a grand total of 4,112 passing yards in those two years.

This season, there is hope that Fields will blossom as a passer, and former NFL player Michael Robinson says that the addition of wide receiver DJ Moore could make a world of difference in Fields’ production, via NFL Network.

Fields was very productive running the ball himself last season to the tune of 1,143 yards and eight touchdowns, but Robinson said he doesn’t consider the QB to be a natural rusher like Jalen Hurts or Lamar Jackson.

He mentioned how defenses will have to change their coverage schemes because of Moore, and that could open things up in general.

Moore may not be one of the most heralded wideouts in the game, but he has been one of the most productive players at his position.

He went for over 1,150 yards in the 2019, 2020, and 2021 seasons, and he will give the Bears a legitimate No. 1 wideout for the first time in a while.

He was acquired in return for the No. 1 pick in April’s draft along with two first-round picks and two second-round picks, and the fact that Chicago traded such a pick seems to indicate the confidence and faith they have in Fields.

They also seem to have confidence and faith that wideout Darnell Mooney will regain the form he showed in 2021 when he had 1,055 yards.

His production dropped to just 493 yards last year as he missed the team’s last five games with an ankle injury.
