Fans React To Anthony Edwards’ FIBA World Cup Performance
Team USA has always featured nothing but the most prominent NBA stars, which is why some fans were slightly disappointed to see their roster for this FIBA World Cup.
They put together a team consisting of rising stars, as opposed to the bonafide and already-proven players we’re used to watching partake in the tournaments.
The best part about this team is that we get to see the guys who are next in line to be stars, and Anthony Edwards is taking over already.
The Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard continued his Michael Jordan impersonation during Team USA’s easy win over Jordan, dominating with 22 points, eight rebounds, and four assists while going 8-for-16 from the floor and 3-for-5 from beyond the arc.
The fans took to Twitter to shower him with praise, and it’s more than evident that he’s already a star in this league.
No debate about it.

Edwards entered the NBA as the No. 1 pick, and his reputation among young players preceded him.
He’s the kind of guy who’ll talk trash, but he’ll also back it up on the court every time he’s got the ball in his hands.
Edwards took a major leap forward last season and even led his team to the playoffs, all despite Karl-Anthony Towns missing a big stretch of the season.
He looks poised to take over and be the Timberwolves’ true franchise player and leader, even despite his youth.
Team USA still have a tough road ahead of them, but they shouldn’t find much trouble if Edwards keeps this kind of play up.
