Anthony Edwards Has Blunt Response About Feeling Pressure
Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves was ready to step up and lead his team when the FIBA Basketball World Cup began.
He showed it again on Wednesday as Team USA took down Jordan with ease, 110-62.
Edwards was all over the game once again.
Afterwards, he was asked about any sort of pressure he feels performing on such a big, international stage.
“Pressure? No, not at all. I love the game of basketball. It’s fun for me, man. I go out there and do what I love. I put in the work every day. So, yeah, it’s no pressure at all,” Edwards said, via Twitter.

In their latest win, Edwards produced 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists.
So far in the World Cup, he has averaged 16.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.
But the third game against Jordan was his highest-scoring one yet.
Now that Team USA has secured a spot in the second round, the question is if Edwards can keep it up.
However, some people believe he is just getting started.
In the weeks leading up to the tournament, many analysts and writers said that Edwards had a chance to become the team’s leader and the most effective player on the court.
Edwards surely heard all the talk and speculation about him.
But it hasn’t seemed to bother him or freak him out.
Instead, he has stepped into the role with ease.
This bodes well for Team USA for the rest of the World Cup but it also bodes well for the Timberwolves next season.
The team has felt on the verge of greatness for a few years now.
If Edwards is able to win big at the World Cup and carry that energy into the new season, it could be a great year for his NBA squad.
