Adam Wainwright has certainly had a legendary career.

The veteran right-hander and two-time World Series champion has spent his entire career with the St. Louis Cardinals.

He came up to the Majors in 2005 and was on the mound to close out the NLCS and World Series a year later.

Today, Wainwright celebrates his 42nd birthday.

Wainwright has meant a lot to the Cardinals organization and the city of St. Louis for so long and has been a fan favorite for years.

On his special day, the Cardinals posted a collage of photos on Twitter to celebrate him and wish him a very happy 42nd birthday.

Wainwright has been around for several great moments in Cardinals history.

In addition to his accomplishments in 2006, he was a part of the 2011 World Series championship club, despite missing the season due to Tommy John surgery.

He has been an All-Star three times and he even played an integral role in the team reaching the World Series again in 2013, pitching a complete game in Game 5 of the NLDS against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

He owns a pair of 20-win seasons and has been in the top three for Cy Young voting three times.

The 42-year-old has battled through countless injuries and has always been at his best when the Cardinals need him the most.

The right-hander will be hanging up his spikes at the end of the season, but with just a month to go in his illustrious career, he is just two wins shy of 200.
