Each NFL training camp is a time for many players to get an opportunity to show what they can do.

Rosters are expanded to 90 players and everyone gets practices and preseason games to show they belong.

But, the fact of the matter is not every player will get a chance to be an NFL player.

That is because NFL teams have to cut their roster down to 53 players and many NFL hopefuls are released.

Some get picked up by other teams, and some never get another chance in the NFL.

Each player’s situation is different and that is what makes cut day one of the toughest days in the calendar year.

Legendary head coach Bill Belichick has been a part of many cut days during his career.

You can tell it still impacts him and it is difficult for him as a coach.

According to NBC Sports Boston, Belichick said, “It’s a tough day for everyone.”

But, Belichick mentioned how the stories are not over for most players.

There will be plenty that are picked up by other teams and given a chance to make their roster.

Sometimes it is all about finding the right situation for a certain player.

Some players will even go to the practice squad with hopes of making the active roster one day.

With the amount of injuries that happen during a year, you never know when your number might be called.

So while cut day is not fun for any coach or player, it is not all bad that comes from it.
