On Saturday, the Las Vegas Raiders got some good news with All-Pro running back Josh Jacobs agreeing to a one-year deal with the team after a long and drawn-out process that resulted in him missing training camp.

At one point, it looked like Jacobs was willing to bypass the entire 2023 NFL season in order to become a free agent next summer and be able to play for another team, as it seemed that the two sides were never going to see eye-to-eye on a new deal.

Fortunately, things never got that far, and Jacobs was all smiles when he finally returned to the team’s facility in Las Vegas to sign his new deal.

Along with inking a new contract, Jacobs got a look at his new Raiders jersey via Dov Kleiman of BroBible, as he has decided to go from No. 28 to No. 8 for the 2023 NFL season.

Hopefully for the Raiders, Jacobs’ production on the field in No. 28 carries over to him sporting No. 8 during the 2023 campaign, as he was arguably the best running back in the league last season.

During the 2022 season, Jacobs racked up over 2,000 yards from scrimmage and scored 12 rushing touchdowns, which was an incredible feat, to say the least.

Jacobs earned his first All-Pro selection due to his impressive season and thrust his name into the best-running-back-in-the-NFL conversation along with Jonathan Taylor, Derrick Henry, Saquon Barkley, and Nick Chubb.

It remains to be seen if Jacobs can have a repeat performance in Las Vegas, as the team’s success will depend on it.
