The Denver Broncos are coming off a forgettable season after the team made the blockbuster trade with the Seattle Seahawks to acquire superstar quarterback Russell Wilson.

The 2022 NFL season couldn’t have gone any worse for the storied franchise, as the team finished dead last in the AFC West division with only five wins to their credit and an aging quarterback who seemed to be past his prime.

Fortunately for Denver, the franchise was willing to give it another shot in 2023 by hiring Sean Payton to be the new head coach in hopes he could turn the franchise around and get Wilson back to being one of the best quarterbacks in the game.

Interestingly enough, the Broncos will head into the 2023 campaign with one of the most expensive wide receiver payrolls in the NFL, which is surprising, to say the least.

According to Warren Sharp, the Broncos sit ahead of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Las Vegas Raiders in this category.

It’s incredible to think that the Broncos are paying this much for a wide receiver room that doesn’t exactly intimidate opposing teams, especially with Jerry Jeudy recently going down with an injury.

Along with Jeudy, the only real notable name is Courtland Sutton, who is a solid wide receiver but hasn’t really lived up to expectations since arriving in Denver a few years ago.

With the Broncos paying more than any team in the league for their wideouts, Payton and company better hope to get some production in the passing game this season.
