When Aaron Rodgers decided he wanted to go to the New York Jets, the franchise jumped at the chance to land the generational quarterback.

It took longer than Jets fans expected, but the team was able to strike a deal with the Green Bay Packers to bring in Rodgers and massively boost their chances of winning a Super Bowl.

New York has a solid young core of players on both sides of the football that performed well in the 2022 season, but the quarterback play left much to be desired.

Former No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson struggled to command the offense, and now will cede the starting spot to Rodgers, who will bring much more organization and structure.

Unfortunately for Rodgers, he is coming at a time when the AFC is at its strongest as there are several teams that can make a case for being the Super Bowl favorite.

With that in mind, analysts like Chris Broussard believe the Jets have a ceiling this season, via “First Things First” on FS1.

Broussard qualifies that he’s not saying they will make the AFC Championship Game, but rather that they could get there if everything breaks right.

Nick Wright, though, brings up a good point that teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, and Baltimore Ravens have just as strong cases.

There’s also the real possibility that Rodgers struggles in his first season with New York as he is older and has shown some signs of decline in recent years.

Regardless, Rodgers represents the Jets’ best chance at making some noise in the postseason and it’ll be interesting to see how far he can take them.
