The Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to be in contention once again this season.

That is mostly because they are in contention every year.

No matter what their roster looks like, the Steelers are always in playoff contention.

This season the Steelers are hoping to see quarterback Kenny Pickett take a leap forward.

He was their first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, and now is the unquestioned starter.

Every NFL team should enter the season motivated to win.

But Pickett has a different type of motivation going into the 2023 season.

According to ProFootballTalk, Pickett said it is easy to stay motivated because the Steelers have done nothing yet.

Pittsburgh improved their roster over the offseason and put themselves in an interesting spot to compete.

On offense, the Steelers have Pickett, Najee Harris, George Pickens, and Diontae Johnson.

They should have a fun offense and it will be on Pickett’s shoulders to score points.

His play this season will show many people if Pickett is the long-term answer or not.

Pickett has looked great in the preseason leading the starters to touchdowns on all three scoring drives.

But, carrying that type of success into the regular season will be difficult.

The Steelers open their season at home against the San Francisco 49ers.

Pickett will be thrown right into the fire against what could be the best defense in football.

We will learn a lot about Pickett and this Steelers offense in Week 1.
