Colin Cowherd Talks Expectations For Jordan Love This Season
The 2023 season represents a new era for Green Bay Packers football as the team will be trotting out Jordan Love as their starting quarterback.
For decades, the Packers were led by Aaron Rodgers, who helped them capture Super Bowl XLV, but the legendary quarterback found a new home with the New York Jets this offseason.
Rodgers and the Packers seemed destined for a split following the conclusion of the 2022 season, and now Love is left to pick up the franchise and try to lead them for the foreseeable future.
Love spent the past few seasons learning under Rodgers behind the scenes and now finally gets his chance to prove to the fans and the rest of the league that he was worthy of his first-round draft selection.
While the young signal-caller probably feels the pressure of trying to live up to someone like Rodgers, media personalities like Colin Cowherd don’t believe he should be feeling any of it, via his show “The Herd.”
“I don’t think there’s a ton of pressure on Jordan Love,” Cowherd said. “We haven’t seen him play and he’s replacing a legend.”

Cowherd has a point that the expectations for Love are low and understandably so given the current state of Green Bay’s roster and his lack of professional experience.
However, any player would still feel the need to perform to the best of their abilities regardless of the circumstances and it’s probably the same for someone like Love.
The Packers are going to look drastically different with a new quarterback under center, so it will be interesting to see how Love handles the opportunity.
