The main goal for the New England Patriots in 2023 to get things turned around after a forgettable 2022 campaign is to get their offense back on track while continuing to develop young quarterback Mac Jones.

Last year was a disaster offensively, with Jones regressing after making the Pro Bowl in his rookie season, which wasn’t entirely his fault, as the team chose to go through the season without an offensive coordinator after Josh McDaniels left to become the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Patriots chose to shake things up this time around with the team bringing in Bill O’Brien to be the new offensive coordinator, which should come in handy with the team making some upgrades on that side of the football.

Along with adding JuJu Smith-Schuster, the team has also brought in former Dallas Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott, who former Patriots back Sony Michel believes will be a solid addition to the team, as he recently told Kay Adams.

Currently, Rhamondre Stevenson is listed as the starting quarterback for the Patriots, and justifiably so after what he was able to accomplish last season in New England, as he racked up almost 1,500 yards from scrimmage and six total touchdowns.

Adams believes that what Stevenson was able to do last season is enough to make him the starter, but Michel thinks Elliott will help Stevenson, as it will provide competition to keep both players on top of their games during the 2023 NFL season.

Michel believes that two star running backs are better than one and that this dynamic will help and not hurt the Patriots in 2023.
