When Myles Jack entered the league, he was a force to be reckoned with.

He began his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars and was part of their aptly-nicknamed “Sacksonville” defense.

After his tenure in Jacksonville, Jack was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers, playing just one year with them.

Ahead of the 2023 season, he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles but is now retiring, according to Ian Rapoport.

As Rapoport mentions, Jack totaled 617 tackles throughout his NFL career.

At just 27 years old, he’s hanging up the cleats, moving on to retirement.

While this might feel like an initial blow to the Eagles’ defense, they have one of the deepest rosters in the league.

If anyone can bounce back from a sudden retirement, the Eagles should have no problems moving on.

The Eagles will again be one of the NFC’s top teams in 2023 if recent reports are any indication.

While Jack won’t be a part of this roster, they have invested in several draft picks to help their cause.

They added two first-round defenders this season, and if training camp reports are accurate, they are well on their way to gaining starting roles.

Jack’s presence will be missed, as he was well-regarded in Jacksonville and a great locker room presence wherever he went.

All good things must come to an end.

At least for now, Jack’s time in the NFL is done.

As fans have seen in recent seasons, a player’s retirement isn’t necessarily finalized, considering the number of players who have unretired.
