Chris Paul Gets Honest About If He Ever Felt He Would Play For Warriors

Nearly everyone was shocked when the Golden State Warriors acquired Chris Paul this summer.

Even Paul himself had a hard time believing it.

Sitting down on the Sloan Knows show, Paul was asked what a previous version of himself would think if he was told he was going to play for Golden State.

“Hell nah. Ain’t no way. There is no way,” Paul said, according to ClutchPoints.

He then went on to remark about how surreal the situation was for everyone including himself, his family, and the Warriors’ staff.

“I remember me and Steph worked out together in Vegas, and a few coaches walked in and saw me in Warriors gear and they were like, ‘This is crazy,’” Paul added.

Question: “If a time traveler told Clippers or Rockets you that you’d be on the Warriors, what do you think you would say?”

Chris Paul: “Hell nah. Ain’t no way. There is no way.”

There are plenty of reasons why people were surprised to see Paul join the Warriors.

Perhaps the biggest is that the team already has one of the best point guards of all time.

While the addition of Paul will certainly bring firepower to the team, will it really make sense alongside Steph Curry?

Paul has always been the leader of his teams but he will have to shift priorities now that he is playing for Golden State.

Could Curry and Paul end up being too much of a good thing?

For his part, Paul sounds very happy to be with the Warriors and also confident that he can fit into the special culture and roster that Steve Kerr has created.

If it all works out as Paul expects, he and his new team could go far in the upcoming season.

In fact, they might be able to get him his first championship ring.

That would perhaps be the most unexpected and exciting development of them all.
